Steroid Treatments

I know someone who was recently diagnosed and is starting steroid treatments.  I'm not able to give any input as I've never tried these before.

Does anyone have any experience with them?

I have just finished steroid IV treatments. I,ve had eight in the last four years. It truly is the most intense expirence ever. I can,t sleep at night( even with sleeping pills). You might say I become a little crazy! My heart races at any given time. It,s very scarry! I said I would never do it again but here I am, terrified again. I kmow, this to shall pass, but in the midst of it, steroids are poison. This is the first treatment that I insisted on my dodtor giving me anti anxiety madication. It has helped, but don,t take it long term. very addicting. So, a pill to go to sleep, pill to calm down, and steroids stay in your system for ,I believe, six weeks.I would love to hear from other people who have had treatment. I only know how it makes me feel. I,m sure every body has there own storie. I also know I,m not alone.thanks and hope this help but not to scare you from a treatment that is nessary when in a relape. GOOD LUCK, WENDY

I was just diagnosed a couple of weeks ago. They started me immediately on IV steroid treatments for 5 days. Since then, they have switched me over to pill form steroids to ween me off. I have had some of the same reactions including a racing heart, trouble sleeping, etc. So far, the symptoms are still here, so I guess its a waiting game.
