Treatments Available

There are many treatments available for MS now.  Until the 1990's, there was nothing available which attempted to treat the underlying disease course (i.e., slow progression, reduce disability, etc.).  Now, there are six FDA-approved treatments for multiple sclerosis.

When I was diagnosed in 1999, I was thinking how the timing was good because at least I had some options in trying to treat the underlying disease.  It's important to talk to a doctor about which treatment is right for each individual.

I would really appreciate any feedback people could provide about treatments they have taken.  You can post a comment to this entry if you'd like to share your experience with other readers of this site.

Starting Copaxone either today or possibly Monday. Fingers are *crossed*.

Best of luck with the treatment - it's a good feeling taking control of things.
